In the 11th hour, things fell into place. We put our house up for sale back in August, and as December ticked closer it was getting harder to keep a positive outlook on what would become of our house.

At first we dismisses the possibility of becoming landlords outright.  We didn’t want to worry about someone trashing our house when we were not around.  But by late November and early December, we began to realize that renting might become a reality.

A few weeks ago Cari got a phone call from Jill Erickson, a good friend from church.  “I keep hearing this ad on the radio for Renter’s Warehouse” she said, “and I thought, I wonder if the Crookstons know about this. So I’m just calling to see if you’ve heard of them.”

We had not heard of them.  But they have been a God-send.  Literally.  Previously we’d checked out another rental agency and we kinda got the creeps from the guy we talk to.  Okay, not just kinda.  He was weird.  And scary. And he said it would take him four to six months to find renters.   Nick at Renter’s Warehouse, on the other hand, has been professional and helpful in every way possible, and he had renters for us in under three weeks.  And no, I’m not getting paid for this :-).

All things happen for a reason.  From our current vantage point on the big picture of life, we have no idea why our house didn’t sell.  Blame the poor housing market if you will, but we tend to believe that there is a greater meaning behind it all.

Time will tell.
