Michelle, Andi and Tanner at the Ocean Beach Club

Carina took her first round of block exams today, which means that when she was done, she had nothing to study until after classes tomorrow.

PARTY!!

We partied Mormon style of course.  Dinner out (no booze), ice cream and a movie.  We went to a little restaurant Cheyenne had told us about: Ocean Beach Club.  It’s a cute, well groomed little place tucked out of the way which we never would have found on our own, and well within walking distance of where we live.  The food was yummy and affordable, but sadly we were too early for the all you can eat BBQ chicken.  And we’ll have to come back on Wednesday for the all-you-can-eat ribs.  So fun!

After dinner we drove our rental car into Cole Bay where we visited the legendary Carousel ice-cream shop.  Wow! Honestly, this place puts any ice-cream place I’ve ever seen back home to absolute shame.  After trying several flavors I settled on Nutella (which made me think of Tom Walsh and the going away party they threw for us featuring Nutella covered brownies.  Nutella.  Brownies.  Two of my biggest vices and weaknesses in life.)

And after ice-cream we went across the street from Carousel to the one-and-only movie theatre on the island (at least that we know of?) and watched We Bought a Zoo.  The theater was much nicer than I expected it to be, and the movie was fantastic.

All in all, it was a fantastic evening celebrating Cari’s first exams.

Good job Carina.  We love you!

We discovered a new drink: Ting. Like Squirt, but more weak. Cari and the kids loved it.

The ice cream was *amazing*. So creamy and smooth. And calorie free, I’m sure. I hope that silly cold snap in MN goes away soon.

Thanks Emily. I don’t know how much I’ve lost, but I know I don’t eat nearly as much food as I used to before coming here. I appreciate the compliment 🙂
You still haven’t said when you will get on a sail boat and come visit us. We’re really excited about that!

Congrats to Cari on finishing her first block exam in med school! And there’s no better way to celebrate than with the family at the best ice cream parlor in the world… I miss that place so much.

I came across your blog on Google.. I don’t remember exactly what I was Googling though, but it was about AUC.

Thanks Benji. And it’s interesting to me how you found our blog. I’ll have to Google around a bit and see if I can find it myself 🙂 Thank you again for your blog as well. My wife and I read a lot of it before coming down here.

The all you can eat ribs at the Ocean Club sounds great. Thanks for the tip. You will have to show us where the ice cream shop is. Sounds like I might have to do some extra running this time. We got booted off the Golf between Maho and Cupecoy last year for running on it.

I can’t believe you were kicked off the golf course for jogging on it. I see people doing that all the time! We are looking forward to your visit 🙂
